The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor has extolled Governor Willie Obiano for creating an enabling environment for Muslims in the State to propagate their faith and also earn their living.
In his goodwill message to Muslims as they celebrate the feast of Eid-el-Malud today, Right Honourable Okafor enjoined them to pursue peace at all times since neither Islam nor Christianity preaches violence.
The Speaker emphasized that religious tolerance among different religious bodies remained the primary solution to the differences witnessed in all facets of governance in the country.
He solicited prayers from all religious bodies to surmount political, economic and religious challenges facing the masses and assured that the State legislature would continue to support all efforts to promote harmonious co-existence among different tribes in the country.
Right Honourable Okafor who described Governor Obiano as a Muslim friendly Governor ,evident in his appointment of some Muslims as his Special Aides as well as other assistance he has continued to offer them, urged Muslims in the state to reciprocate the gesture by giving the governor the needed support at all times.
