Youths of Nsugbe community have been advised to gear up towards providing water tight security in the community in the face of current nationwide security challenges .
The call was made by a onetime APGA Councilor Nsugbe Ward One, Mr Eugene Akpeh , during a meeting held for the youths of the community.
In attendance at the meeting were members of some age grades that are classified under youths of the community including Ayaedo, Nwabunwanne Ndukaku, Ofuobi, Ifeadigo and Ukwuoma age grades among others.
Addressing the youths during the meeting convoked by one of Governor Willie Obiano’s aids, Sir Mike Obiajulu-Meze, the Chairman of Ayaedo Age Grade, Mr Akpeh commended the youths for playing important role in protection of the property within the Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe during the protest, urging them to maintain the tempo.
He reminded them of the need to offer themselves to work for the good of the community, not minding that their security vehicle got burnt during the violence . In his speech, the initiator Nsugbe Run And Walk for life Mr Tagbo Obi, urged youths of the community to always be on the lookout for both indigenes and none indigenes of the community who would pose security threats to the community and not to hesitate in handing them over to the police.
In their separate speeches, Mr Chinedu Ogugua who is the Youth Leader APGA Ward One Nsugbe, Nonso Onwuzulike and Francis Nnaso, called for synergy among the youths noting that factions would give criminals opportunity to strike when they
least expected it.
They commended Governor Obiano for the mature way he handled the violent part of the protest which they said recorded very low causality in the state.
