The Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Mr. Emeka Okonkwo has resigned.
Mr. Okonkwo made the announcement to Dunukofia people at the formal induction of Chief Vincent Udobi, a prominent political player in the local government area, into the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Correspondent, Daniel Ezeigwe reports that Mr. Okonkwo’s tenure as the Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Local Government saw what political observers described as the resurgence and growth of the APGA structure in Dunukofia Local Government Area and also attracted notable persons from the Local Government Area into the party including Chief Udobi.
Mr. Okonkwo who has been the Dunukofia Transition Committee Chairman for one year and eight months, said that his resignation from his current position is in the best interest of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA and promised to continue to advocate the success and growth of the party as a full-fledged member.
He urged Dunukofia people to give equal support they gave him to anyone who would take over from him and to APGA as the party remains the headlight of a greater Dunukofia and Anambra State.
On his part, the APGA Chairman in Dunukofia Local Government Area, Mr.
Vincent Ezennia, described Mr. Okonkwo’s tenure as the Local Government Chairman as the best that the council has ever had and urged him to replicate the same legacy in future positions.
