The Federal Government has said that it will reorganise various youth entrepreneurship programmes carried out by the Ministry of Labour and Employment with the aim of making them more accessible for the teeming unemployed Nigerian youths.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige disclosed this after inspecting facilities destroyed by hooligans in Anambra State in the fallout of the #EndSARS protests that recently rocked the country.

Correspondent, Daniel Ezeigwe reports that Senator Ngige who conceded that the federal government has not done optimally in checkmating unemployment, one of the major reasons for the protests, said that plans have already been developed to give more youths opportunities in the various vocational sectors under his Ministry as well other ministries.

The Minister noted that with different youth-related plans initiated by the federal government including those under the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Industrial Training Fund, ITF, Bank of Industry, BoI, and the artisan support scheme under the Economic Sustainably Plan, youths would be properly engaged.

Senator Ngige, who is also a former Governor of Anambra State, noted that the N-power programme would be fast forwarded to accommodate more youths and reduce the unemployment burden on the country.

He, however, appealed to youths to always channel their grievances through the right medium, noting that destroying public property contradicts any genuine reason for agitation .

Senator Nigige was accompanied to the inspection by the Secretary to the Government of Anambra State, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu.
