Governor Willie Obiano has continued to receive commendations on his sustainable development initiatives and rural development projects.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka, the Transition Committee chairman, Ihiala Local Government Council, Engineer Jude Obiwuru said the Obiano administration has opened up various communities and rural areas of the state for effective harnessing of human and material resources.
Engineer Obiwuru noted that the revolution, in Agricultural sector has expanded frontiers of employment and empowerment of youths which have greatly discouraged rural urban drift as well as drastically reduced social vices and crime while the state per capital income has been significantly raised.
He commended the Governor for his timely intervention in the civil unrest in the state over the alleged SARS and police brutality against the citizens and described the setting up of a Judicial Panel of Inquiry under the chairmanship of retired Justice Veronica Umeh as a way forward and urged youths to eschew violence and protect collective wealth of the state.
He thanked people of Ihiala for the warm reception given to the wife of the Governor, Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano during her recent visit to the town.
Engineer Obiwuru commended the state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba, Deputy Speaker, state Assembly, Dr Pascal Agbodike and the Traditional rulers in Ihiala Local Council Area for their contributions towards moving the state forward.
In their separate reactions, a community leader, Mr Godwin Ezedinobi and retired teacher, Mr Micheal Nwankwo commended the Governor for giving every part of the state a sense of belonging.
