The remains of Late Chief Joseph Ezeibe have been interred in his compound at Ugwu village Awgbu, Orumba North Local Government Area.

The funeral service, which took place at Immanuel Church Parish Awgbu, attracted politicians, the academia, business moguls, Knights and Ladies of the Anglican Church and many others from all walks of life.


The late Chief Ezeibe, who died at the age of ninety-four after a brief illness, was until his death a successful business man and a devout Christian.

In his condolence message, Governor Willie Obiano represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Primus Odili asked the family to take solace in the fact that their late father died a fulfilled man and prayed God to grant his soul eternal repose.

On his part, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Emmanuel Udom, while explaining death as painful, extended his condolences to the family and entire Ndi Anambra praying God to continue to keep them in the right path.


For the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, the late Chief Joseph Ezibe was a man of the people and prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable lost.

Earlier in a burial service, the Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, described the deceased as a caring and loving father, who stood for the truth.

Right Reverend Ezeofor stressed the need for Christians to live a holy life that will secure them a place in heaven.

The first son of the deceased, Mr. Emeka Ezeibe thanked all, who traveled from far and near to sympathize with the family praying God to grant them long life in good health and sound mind to rip the fruits of their labour.


Dignitaries that graced the burial ceremony include Former Vice President of Nigeria; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar represented by Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Charles Soludo, Senator Stella Oduah and members of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly among numerous others.
