The Anambra State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Sir Norbert Obi, has asked party members to defend the party with facts obtained from the successes of Governor Willie Obiano’s administration.
Sir Norbert was speaking when the Anambra State Working Committee of the party visited APGA members in Ogbaru Local Government Area, in continuation of its fact-finding tour to the twenty-one local government areas of the state.
While addressing members from the sixteen wards in the local government area, the APGA State Chairman noted that the remarkable achievements recorded by the present administration in Anambra State, form a solid template for any social and political debates on what APGA as a political party has achieved.
Explaining the reason for the visit, the Chairman of Tour Committee, who is also the APGA State Vice Chairman Anambra Central, Sir Theophine Nnoli, noted that the tour was aimed at strengthening the grassroots base of the party, adding that APGA as the only party with a viable structure in Anambra State, must sustain that unique model in view of next year’s gubernatorial election in the state.
The Anambra State Secretary of APGA, Sir Tony Ifeanya, who gave a breakdown of what the present administration has achieved so far, told the party members to galvanize the energy needed to build APGA’s dominance beginning with Anambra State.
Welcoming the tour team, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Mr. Arinze Awogu, said that just as all the sixteen wards in the local government area rallied round Governor Obiano’s victory in the 2017 governorship race, it has geared up for a repeat of another historical backing come 2021.
The APGA leader in Ogbaru Local Government and Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Farm Implements and Mechanization, Sir Paul Nwosu, in his speech, noted that the party in the area has made huge progress and is in a better stand for next year’s gubernatorial race.
The chairmen of the sixteen party wards in Ogbaru Local Government Area later briefed the state executive working committee on the activities in their wards and other intra-party relationships among members of the party at the grassroots level.
The Tour Committee shall continue its visits to Onitsha North and South Local Government Areas, on Monday, November 9th, 2020.
The APGA Chairman in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Mr. Nnamdi Ifejika, as well as other APGA leaders in the council and government appointees, were present.
