AS parts of government’s efforts in tackling the rising unemployment in the country, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has announced plans to empower over five hundred thousand youths in Shomolu area of Lagos State with its Nigerian Youth Investment Fund, NYIF.

In his speech, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr.
Sunday Dare, said the NYIF which was approved in July 2020, would invest in innovative skills, enterprise and talents of the Nigerian youths.

Mr. Dare, who stated this at an interactive session with cluster formation of youths in Shomolu Federal Constituency, Lagos, said the seventy-five billion naira fund is expected to last for three years.

He noted that it is a fund meant to be invested in innovative skills, enterprise and talents of the Nigerian youths adding that it comes with a five per cent interest rate and a two year moratorium and is the first of its kind for the Nigerian youths.
