Grassroot politics have been described as a critical aspect of politicking and political mobilization, which also stimulates political participation and development at the grassrroot level. This was the central message during the All Progressives Grand Alliance tour, which to Oyi Council Area.

Correspondent Kenechukwu Chukwudi reports that the APGA entourage led by the state Chairman of the party, Sir Norbert Obi arrived Oyi local government area secretariat and were welcomed by APGA faithful, including Oyi Local Government Area party Chairman, ward leaders, Councillors, political appointees and host of others. Speaking during the visit, APGA state party Chairman, Sir Norbert said they came to know how the party is fairing in Oyi, identify their challenges and take stock of issues, while strategizing on how best to to move the party forward, assuring that the party leadership will remain accountable to the party and its faithful.

The Transition Committee Chairman for Oyi Local Government Area, Engineer Nnamdi Nwadiobi commended the party leadership for the visit and also thanked the national leadership of the party for ensuring cohesion within the party, especially in Anambra state, noting that the visit will help them identiFYI challenges and how to better manage them. In their remarks, the Vice Chairman of the party, Mr. Theophilne Nnoli, emphasised that APGA has become a party for Ndi Igbo and its values should be upheld, while Barrister Tony Ifeanya, who’s the State Secretary of APGA, enumerated the achievements of the state government, including the Cargo Airports, Awka Conference Center and Stadium under construction , Community Choose Your Project Initiative among others and urged party faithfu to remain firm as APGA government since 2006 have stabilized the state for progress. The visit featured interaction with party grassrroot leaders and faithful on the challenges and the way forward.
