The State Head of Service, Barrister Harry Udu says Governor Willie Obiano has made provision for employment of more civil servants into the state civil service in 2021 fiscal year.
Barrister Udu disclosed this during his interaction with the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation on 2021 Appropriation bill at Legislative Complex in Awka.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim was there and reports that Barrister Udu noted that the recruitment of more civil servants into the state workforce will strengthen it.
The Head of Service also urged the committee to increase the capacity building vote of civil servants as it will enable his office to train young civil servants for optimum performance, adding that there will be promotion of qualified civil servants next year as Governor Obiano has made provision for that.
Also, the Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Venerable Amaechi Okwuosa told the Committee that the Agency is committed to building a cosmopolitan city within the capital territory with excellent infrastructure in 2021 fiscal year to serve as a preferred investment destination in Africa.
Venerable Okwuosa maintained that this goal when accomplished will turn the capital territory into a modern village that will be second to none.
Later, the committee interfaced with the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Sir Willie Nwokoye, where a member of the committee, Dr. Pete Ibida commended him for building a harmonious working relationship between the House and Governor Willie Obiano which has accelerated development of Anambra State.
On his part, Sir Nwokoye assured that he will always discharge his duties in a manner that will make things easy for Governor Obiano to carry out governance at his own style.
