Chaplain Corps Policing Explorer (CHAPOL), Anambra State Command, is a nongovernmental paramilitary organization authorized by the Anambra State Government through the State Ministry of Education, specifically, the Post Primary Schools Service Commission. CHAPOL combats and possibly eradicates moral decadence and other social vices such as cultism, exam malpractice, drug abuse lateness to schools and monitor loitering and truancy during school hours in all the 263 government secondary schools in Anambra State.

No doubt, value system in our society today faces a lot of challenges, which has led to murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, arson, rape, drug, prostitution, fraud, cybercrime, thuggery, cultism and so on. These therefore affected our educational system and have adversely affected the morals of our youths in school.

As an organization made up of Christian professionals whose officers are trained with a high level of moral standard, character and discipline, CHAPOL members have not only volunteered, but have began returning our school system back to her glorious days. For eight years running, CHAPOL has worked to produce graduates who can be reckoned as worthy in character and learning, by aggressively promoting good behaviour among students using our presence to deter intruders and trouble makers from public schools.

CHAPOL Anambra state Command has worked so hard in government secondary schools in Anambra state in the areas of combating and eradicating moral decadence and other social vices among the students and the testimonies of what we have achieved so far speak for us. Even in the face of severe financial challenges, the gallant officers of CHAPOL have remained resilient, resolute and undaunted in combating all forms of immoral behaviours among our youths in secondary schools such as cultism, theft, drug abuse, homosexuals, lesbianism, loitering and truancy during school hours, among others.

One of the measures adopted by the Command is a one day seminar/conference on moral values for the students. Its maiden edition took place on November 9, 2013, with delegates representing the then 256 secondary schools in Anambra state. The seventh edition of the annual seminar was held at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka on November 16, 2019.

From 2013 when we commenced operations, thirty-nine students have been awarded various types of scholarships, fully sponsored by our Patrons. The Command also introduced a story book on moral values titled, “OUT OF THE CROWD“. Though the book was to be sold for three hundred naira to students, the Command, instead, sought for sponsorship and over three million naira worth have been donated freely to students between 2019 and 2020.

The Command appreciates Governor Willie Obiano for the provision of two vehicles. The support of the Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof. Kate Omenugha has been overwhelming. The partnership of the Chairman of PPSSC, Lady Ifeoma Okaro, and the Executive Secretary, Mrs. Josephine Onuorah, the collaboration of school principals and teachers all contributed in ensuring that our operations in schools achieved the desired objectives.

Chaplain Corps Policing Explorers (CHAPOL) is inviting the general public to her 2020 passing out parade/commissioning ceremony of her trained Cadet Officers holding on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Igwebuike Grammar Scholl Awka. Dr Obiano is expected as Chief Guest of Honour, while Prof Omenugha will be the Special Guest of Honour. Chief Inspector of Parade will be Right Reverend Emmanuel Obiora, Presiding Bishop, Life of Faith Gospel Assembly, Nkwelle Ezunaka. Come and join CHAPOL in inculcating moral values into the school system and build strong formidable leaders of tomorrow.
