The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has commemorated his tenth year enthronement anniversary and one year Arch episcopacy in Awka.
Archbishop Ibezim, who has been the Bishop of Awka Diocese since November 2010, emerged as the new Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger in July 2019.
The service held at Our Saviour’s Church, Awka, was attended by numerous clergymen and lay dignitaries.
In a sermon, the Synod Secretary, Diocese of Awka, Venerable Clement Mgbemena said the anniversary is remarkable to thank God for His enabling grace towards the Archbishop and his wife, Mrs Chioma Ibezim.
Venerable Mgbemena recalled that despite countless problems, challenges and persecution for the past ten years, God took control over everything.
Addressing the congregation, Most Reverend Ibezim flanked by his wife Mrs. Chioma Ibezim, expressed gratitude to all guests that graced the occasion, stating that God has made his live more valuable.
Archbishop Ibezim called for iincreased security around various communities especially this Yuletide season stating that Nigeria is no longer secured while disorderliness is ravagig the entire process.
The Archbishop’s Wife, Mrs Ibezim expressed joy over the celebration, urging Christians who may have encountered challenges in the course of their efforts to remain focused in the propagation of the gospel of Christ.
The congregation also prayed for the Archbishop and his family asking God to strengthen and protect him from dangers including those in authority by directing them in the way of justice and peace.
The service featured hymns, orchestra performance, cutting of cake and thanksgiving by Archbishop Ibezim’s family.
