A new chapter was Opened in the history of Oba Community, Idemili South, Council area as neighboring villages of Isu and Ezelle entered into peaceful accord to coexist in unity.
The Signing of the memorandum of understanding and peaceful agreement held at Isu Umuezegbute Village hall was sealed by the Regent of Oba, Chief Nuel Ezenwa, among stakeholders and cabinet members.
The signing of the MOU and resolution was the outcome of inauguration of a five man peace Committee, to address the misunderstanding that recently caused breach of peace in the Community.
According to the Regent, the agreement signed between the two villages marked a turning point towards the progress and sustainable development in the area.
He submitted that peace remains the panacea for meaningful growth and essence of human existence.
In a prayer session to usher in the event, a Cleric Reverend Zubby Okide, who tagged his message, “The Power of Love“, stressed the need to accommodate and give peace a chance.
Represented by Pastor Chinweike of Saint John the Apostle Parish Oba, Reverend Okida regretted that respect for value system is fast deteriorating.
A Cabinet member and spokesperson of Isu Village, Chief Emma Nwanegbo, explained that the initiative remains Landmark for total Independence and unlimited access of Ezelle Village describing it as a mark of distinction for posterity, growth and advancement in the area.
He said the experience will benefit the public, urging individuals and nations to sheath their sword and embrace peace.
A Chieftain and Signatory, Chief Peter Enendu, expressed delight that the resolution has been mutually beneficial, while the Acting President General of Ezelle, Mr. Clifford Enendu, thanked those who laboured in building and making cynosure in Community development.
Others, who spoke including the Chairman Isu Umuezegbute Village, Apostle Daniel Ajumora, Mr. Ifeanyi Onwepenata as well as Mrs. Chinedu Enwuluzo, sued for respect to constituted laws of the Land.
