A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has said that in spite of the general downturn in the economy, Anambra State Government under APGA has been waxing stronger and stronger.

Professor Soludo stated this at Aguata Local Government Area during the fact finding tour embarked upon by APGA State Working Committee at the council’s secretariat hall, Ekwulobia.


While addressing the gathering, Professor Soludo, while comparing the exchange rate and value of money said, APGA government has been delivering not minding the massive implosion in the government revenue.

Professor Soludo, who is the Committee Chairman for Anambra Vision 2070 Developmental Master Plan, noted that post COVID-19 and a post oil world, would be a total new dimension commending Anambra State Government for being proactive as Governor Willie Obiano is already thinking through the business model.

On their parts, the member representing Aguata Federal Constituency, Chief Chukwuma Umeoji and his state House of Assembly counterpart, Honorable Okechukwu Okoye urged the ward executives to remain steadfast and also carry each other along.


The Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala during the tour highlighted some achievements the Obiano led administration has recorded in the Health Sector through the support and cooperation of Ndi Anambra especially during the fight against COVID-19 even as he reminded them that COVID-19 is still with them and the need to always keep to the preventive measures, while his Public Utilities counterpart, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, who described the tour as motivational and reassuring, commended the leadership of the party and remarked that only unity and dedication will trigger the desired success.

Earlier, the state chairman of APGA, Sir Norbert Obi represented by his deputy, Chief Omeligwe Elle, who assured that all ongoing road projects will be completed before next election, affirmed that more will be constructed to open up the area.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Eche Ezeibe, expressed optimism that Anambra State will experience economic boom on completion of the International Cargo Airport.

Others, who spoke during the tour, including the state Secretary of the party, Barrister Tony Ifeanya and the Vice chairman Central, Chief Theophina Nnoli highlighted the legacy projects of the Obiano led administration.
