Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has commiserated with the family of Late Colonel Emmanuel Nwobosi, a former Captain in the Nigerian Army, Colonel in the Biafran Army as well as Chief of Staff to late General Emeka Ojukwu.
Late Colonel Nwobosi, who died at the age of eighty-one, participated in the 1966 January fifteenth, coup de etat.


Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that Late Colonel Nwobosi also led soldiers in different battles in defense of the young Republic of Biafra.
Commiserating with his family at Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Governor Obiano described Late Colonel Nwobosi as a legend, whom he worked closely with during the Ozoemezina mass burial for Nigeria and Biafra war victims at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.


The Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala, Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora Affairs, Mr. Tony Muonagor, who also hails from Obosi, among others, accompanied the Governor, while his family members and kinsmen received them.
