Ground breaking ceremony for a thirty Seater Computer Centre has been performed at the Faculty of Environmental Science, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The ICT building, courtesy of a philanthropist and illustrious son of Enugwu-Ukwu, Chief Austin Oguejiofor, who is the Chairman of Rotech Group, Promoters of Anambra Luxury Place Estate, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, is aimed at achieving ICT-driven education, in line with the vision of the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Esimone.

While performing the ceremony, in company of the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Esimone, Chief Oguejiofor said the project, which will be completed in record time, is motivated by the need to sustain positive impacts in the society, especially in education, promising to extend the gestures to finding solutions to challenges of unemployment in the country.


The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Esimone, who described Chief Oguejiofor as illustrious son of Anambra and Igbo in general, appreciated him for extending his largesse to Nnamdi Azikiwe University, calling on others to join efforts in improving quality education for all.


Dean, Faculty of Environmental Science, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Cliff Nwanna, illustrious sons of Enugwu-Ukwu, including the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Dr. Uche Nworah, and the President-General of Enugwu-Ukwu Community Development Union (ECDU) Bonny Ozo Nkwuaku, were present at the event.
