Anambra State Government has continuously called on its citizens to think home in order to add value to their state of birth.

Actually, think home philosophy started with the administration of former Governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife, who also started a think home estate in Awka. That lofty dream seemed to have been played down until Governor Willie Obiano re-echoed the call.

Now christened Aku Luo Uno, Governor Obiano urged NdiAnambra living in other parts of the world to invest part of their wealth at home. There is equally Aku Luo Uno residential estate located at Umueri. It is about ten minutes drive from the Anambra International Airport City project under construction and fifteen minutes drive from Orient Petroleum refinery.

Many people have responded to the think home philosophy. Some have built hotels of international standards, while others established modern shopping malls. These wealthy citizens can make the State the Japan and Dubai of Africa, if they can pull their resources.

Government, on its own, is encouraging persons that will build industries for the benefit of unemployed youths through ASBA. However, the cost of land must be made affordable and certificate of occupancy (C of O) made easier to acquire, to attract investors to the State. Happily, the state government is constructing an airport. The federal government should key in by establishing, without which the state will not be fully industrialized.

Anambra State has remained the economic hub of the South East. Others should join the likes of Chief Israel Okeke Ezue to make the “Think Home Philosophy” feasible.
