Ndi Anambra and other stakeholders have been urged to support the present drive by Governor Willie Obiano’s administration to project the state on global map.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka, the National Chairman of Willie Obiano’s Support Group, Chief Jude Emecheta said this would expand socio-economic opportunities in the state and accelerate industrial development.

Paul Ezeoke reports that Chief Emechata said Governor Obiano’s legacy projects and development initiatives were designed to uplift the lives of Ndi Anambra and benefit future generation, noting that the Governor is looking beyond meeting the needs of today by providing infrastructure and facilities that would serve the future needs and demands of the people.

He expressed satisfaction that residents of the state have embraced the on-going state House Numbering Scheme as a necessity to upgrade to a smart state and explained that the pilot scheme was designed to identify challenges and set a template to achieve the set objectives.

Chief Emecheta who is the Managing Director of Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency said they are partner with Awka Capital Territory Development Authority to develop standard signs and local government councils on street naming and would also collaborate with the state Physical Planning Board to ensure proper synergy with all relevant authorities.

Also speaking the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Venerable Amechi Okwuosa said the scheme is in line with international best practices and would assist in generating necessary data for Agencies and Authorities to carry out their functions effectively as well as ensure orderliness in cities and towns as the numbers are properly arranged with even numbers on one side and odd numbers on the other side.

Venerable Okwuosa said the scheme would also help to eliminate Illegal Street and road naming created by some individuals without following lay down processes as well as streamline and erase confusions created on some streets with two conflicting names.

In their separate reactions, two landlords Chief Michael Okemmadu and Sir Innocent Obiukwu commended ANSAA for the innovation which they said would enhance socio-economic activities, urging the agency to extend the exercise to other parts of the state.
