The National Directorate of Employment, NDE has trained sixty persons from Anaocha Njikoka and Dunukofia Local Government Areas during a two day skill acquisition training for women and youths.
The State co-ordinator of the National Directorate of Employment, Mrs Chika Ufele , through her representative, Mr Emeka Onyeabor expressed joy with the training where participants were trained on the production of some household items such as soap making, perfumes, disinfectants, air freshener hand sanitizer, and bead making.
She noted that with this kind of opportunities, the unemployed will begin to earn and to feed themselves, create direct and indirect job opportunities as well as increase revenue accruable to the state and give to the less privileged .
Also other officials from the Directorate, Messrs Ezenwinyinya and Ngozi Onuorah, while thanking the member representing Anaocha Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Chief Dozie Nwankwo for facilitating the training, implored the participants to make good use of the life changing opportunity to improve their lives and that of their families.
Certificates of participation and a take-off grant of fifty thousand naira were presented to each of the participants.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mrs. Mercy Okongwu thanked Chief Nwankwo and the National Directorate of Employment for the opportunity given to them, especially in this post COVID-19 pandemic era.
