Chief Paul Chinedu has been re-elected as the President General, Awada Central Land Lords Association, to pilot the affairs of the Association for the next four years.
Chief Chinedu was re-elected alongside other executive members at the Awada Central Land Lords Association Secretariat, Onyebuchi Street, Awada Obosi.
The election, which commenced with the accreditation of eligible voters and candidates, was conducted with option A4 system of voting.
Posts contested for were, the President General, Treasurer and Public Relation Officer with Chief Nathaniel Nnajiofor emerging as the Treasurer, Mr. Franklin Iheforo, the Public Relations Officer while other posts stood unopposed.
In his address, the President General, Obosi Town Union, Sir Ikechukwu Okolo said they were mandated by the state government to conduct the overdue election.
While commending members for adopting option A4 system of voting, which according to him is cheaper, safer and will help to eliminate enmity, Sir Ikechukwu assured credible, free and fair elections.
Speaking before the dissolution of the caretaker committee, their chairman, Chief Augustine Okafor thanked the members for their loyalty and support during his three months tenure.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Chinedu, who solicited for their unalloyed support, promised on behalf of other executive members to serve them better.
Reacting, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Awada Central Land Lords Association, Chief Leonard Nwangwu and the Secretary of the Electoral Committee, Sir Richard Anunobi commended the credibility of the election and charged the new executive to live above board, stressing that Awada Obosi has been peaceful.
The chairman of the Electoral Committee, Chief Osita Nwiwu, the newly elected Secretary of the Association, Chief Nathaniel Nnajiofor and a member of the electoral Committee, Mr. Moses Okoli expressed joy at the success of the election, commending the comportment of the electorate.
Election observers were the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on Local Government Liaison, Sir Chudi Onwuachu, Liaison officer Obosi Development Union and a member of Igwe in council, Honorable Obi Armstrong among other patrons of the association.
