Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), has won the Media Icon of the Year Award, while Miss Ifunanya Okonkwo, presenter of ABS television programme ‘Ogamba’ also won an award as the South East and South South Media Personality Of the Year for for championing societal development and education through her cultural programmes.

The prestigious awards were presented in Portharcourt during the Dez Mayorz Online Media Award (DMOMA) ceremony, a media platform that encourages professionalism.

Dez Mayorz Online Media Award (DMOMA) of Excellence is a Southern Nigerian-based award that focuses on working Nigerians from various disciplines and rewards them, for their effective input towards societal development and making life better for people, using their talents, time and vision.

While the Media Icon of the Year Award was presented to the ABS for championing media excellence in Anambra State and the South East Nigeria, the South East and South South Media Personality Of the Year Award was given to Miss Okonkwo for her numerous impact and contribution through the ABS programme ‘Ogamba and ‘Osinachi‘, one of the people-oriented programmes that explores the culture, heritage, uniqueness and distinctiveness of communities across Anambra State.
