In spite of the aesthetics and friendly environment created by the present administration in Anambra, some individuals have continued to deface the street including beggars .,This was witnessed at major streets and junctions in the state where many beggars some of whom trooped into the State from neighbouring States, for begging and other illegal activities constitute a challenge to the environment.,

In keeping with the efforts of ridding the streets of beggars and hoodlums, the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, apprehended eight women and their children who came from Izzii, Ebonyi State, begging for alms at the Army gate Onitsha.,

Speaking to newsmen after the raid, the Commissioner Lady Ndidi said that the Governor directed the Ministry to rid the State of beggars to ensure that the life of children whom they use are safe.,Lady Ndidi frowned at the attitude of women who are strong but resorted to begging, saying that she will liaise with the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Women Affairs to ensure they are engaged meaningful so as to stop them from trooping into Anambra for begging.,

The Traditional Leader of All The Non Indigene In The State, Amos Nkwuda said they are enjoying freedom and dividends of democracy from the Governor Willie Obiano led administration and promised to ensure that such things could not happen in Anambra again.,

In their separate speeches on behalf of others, Faith Nwankpume and Egooyibo Mgbanu said they came to Anambra because of hardship and destruction of properties by their people who recently had a communal clash stating that they are staying at the barracks where they pay rents to the soldiers who gave them the apartments and promised not to indulge in the activities again.,The commissioner later gave them bags of rice, noodles and transport money to get back to Ebony.
