The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment Chapel has held its 2020 Information Management Conference, to assess the union’s productivity in the COVID-19 era.,
The event, took place at the Jerome Udorji State Secretariat, Awka, where journalists carried out self-examination and chart the way forward for the development of the chapel and the society at large.,Correspondent Chibuzo Obidike reports that the conference with the theme “Building Internal Partnership for Corporate Existence: Experience from post COVID-19 Era” was organized to have an overview of the reportage, partnership and productivity of the union during the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.,Declaring the conference open, the Chief host and Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Anambra State, Mr. C-Don Adinuba acknowledged the importance of organizational learning which he said is more important than certificates, revealing that Nigeria is witnessing second wave of COVID-19 due to the season of yuletide, and urged the people to stick to the COVID-19 safety protocols.,
The Chairman on the occasion and Commissioner for Transport in Anambra State, Mr. Afam Mbanefo, said despite the challenges associated with journalism practitioners must remain committed.,In his keynote address, Professor Venatus Agbanu of the Department of Mass Communication, Chukwuemeka Odomegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam Campus, thanked the union for the conference which, he noted, proves good leadership.,On his part, the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Stanley Onunkwor, explained that the conference was one of the initiatives of the chapel that is aimed at exposing members to current trends in the information management techniques, for improved performance.,The event was well attended by government functionaries
