Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, has held her 2020 annual Festival of Nine Lessons, Carols and Award Ceremony.
The event which took place at the ABS corperate headquarters, Awka, was graced by top government functionaries, traditional rulers, clergymen and staff of the establishment.
As expected, the ambience from the event portrayed the significance of the occasion, as the renditions from different choir groups filled the air.
The guests listened to the stories of the failures of humanity, the promise of the Messiah and the birth of Jesus Christ as told in nine short Bible readings in preparation for Christmas.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the event, the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to Anambra State Governor, Mr Emeka Ozumba, and Mr. Emmanuel Ndubuisi who spoke on behalf of Chief Christopher Ndubuisi, one of the awardees at the event commeneded the success of the event and described the year 2020 as a challenging one, while asking Christians to be prayerful in order to obtain the peace that comes with Christmas.
On the ninth lesson, read by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah, the central message was a call on Christians to return to God as the season is here to wipe away the pains of yesterday for a fresh beginning.
Among the dignitaries at the event were a former Commissioner of Housing in Anambra State, Dr Nky Obi, the First Vice President of Ozubulu Development Union, Chief Anthony Ogomegbunam, the Chairman Rotech Group, Chief Austin Oguejiofor, represented by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on Culture, Arts and Tourism, Honourable Chinedu Kelvin, the traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu and his cabinet members, among others.
