The Onugbolu family of Adazi Nnukwu, friends, relations and associates gathered over the week end to formerly bid farewell to one time Speaker of the Anambra state House of Assembly Right Honourable Bart Ndubuisi Onugbolu.
The funeral mass which was held in honour of late Onugbolu at his compound in Amata, Adazi Nnukwu, Anaocha Council area of Anambra state, attracted many dignitaries from far and wide.


Chidinma Ikeanyionwu was there and reports that Right Honourable Bart Ndubuisi Onugbolu who died at the age of sixty five after a brief illness was the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly from 1999-2003.
Late Onugbolu was also a father of six, legal practitioner as well as a politician.

The Late Right Honourable Onugbolu was also a dedicated Catholic who lived a true Christian life in the service of God and was as well a member of the Knights of Saint John International.

In a homily during the funeral mass, Reverend Father Michael Onwukike from Saint Matthew’s Catholic parish Amawbia, urged Christians to always be ready for the life after death because no one knows when death will come.
Condoling with the deceased family, the Transition Committee chairman, Anaocha Local Government Area Mr Patrick Estate Onyedum who was also the representative of the wife of the governor, Dr Mrs Obiano asked the deceased family not to lose hope even as she prayed for God’s grace to pull through the trying period.

Speaking immediately after the burial mass the first son of the deceased Mr Nnamdi Onugbolu and his sister Miss Kamsi Onugbolu who recounted the memories left behind by their late father said they will miss his love, gentility and soft nature even as they prayed God to grant him eternal rest.

Also one of the cousins to the deceased Mr Greg Onugbolu, said the vacuum created is huge and irreplaceable stating that they will miss their beloved brother.

Dr Mrs Michelle Onugbolu is wife to late Right Honourable Bart Ndubuisi Onugbolu.
She is also a co-anchor of the ABS programme “Malu Mmebe”.


Others who came to commiserate with the family are the former governor of Anambra State Mr Peter Obi, former Deputy speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Chukwudi Orizu, Some members of the Anambra Broadcasting Service led by the Director of Programmes Department Mrs Nneka Ekwunife, government functionaries, the clergy, party faithful, Transition Committee chairmen amongst others.
There were also condolence visits by members of the Nigeria girls guild led by Dr Mrs Helen Obi, in-laws, friends and well-wishers.
