The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Public Procurements has expressed satisfaction with the projects executed by the Awka South Local Government Area, in line with procurement Act.

House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the Chairman of the committee, Honourable Chuka Ezenwune disclosed this when the local government council appeared before it to defend their capital projects in 2019.

The lawmaker observed that the local government area followed due process in their procurements and charged them to remain steadfast.

On his part, the Transition Committee Chairman, Awka South Local Government Area, Mr. Leo Nwauba praised the committee for discharging their duties creditably, which he said has helped to entrench accountability in local government system.

The Newi South Local Government Area also appeared before the committee and defended their procurements in the year under review.

The Chairman of the local Government Area, Mr. Chieloka Okoye commended the Anambra State House of Assembly for living up their oversight responsibility.
