The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Anambra State Command says it successfully completed the rehabilitation of ninety-four persons who are drug dependent in the state in the year 2020.
The Agency made the revelation in a release detailing the report of their activities in the year 2020.

The statement personally signed by the State Commander of the Agency, Mr Mohammed Idris and released to the press in Awka, said out of the ninety-four persons, four were female.

It also said twenty others are still undergoing the counseling and rehabilitation programme of the agency.
Meanwhile, it also revealed that it secured twenty convictions of drug traffickers, won a civil case while it arraigned seven persons in the year.

One hundred and twenty five cases are still pending at different Federal Courts in the country.
According to the NDLEA, she arrested one hundred and thirty one suspects in the year, out of which ten are females.
It showed that total illicit drug seizures made was two-thousand four hundred and five point-three seven kilogrammes.

Breaking them down, the illicit drugs seized by the agency include one-point-seven-zero-six kilogrammes of cannabis sativa, zero-point-zero-nine-nine-two kilogrammes of cocaine, and zero-point-zero-one-two kilogrammes of heroine while other psychotropic substances weigh six hundred and ninety eight-point-eight-eight kilogrammes.
The NDLEA boss, Mr Idris also assured of the agency’s commitment to riding the state of all forms of drugs crimes.
