The rich cultural heritage of Ndigbo recently came to the fore  in Umunnachi, Dunukofia Local Government Area, when  Uzodimma Age Grade Presented their Akwunechenyi Masquerade to the public.

The event which took place at the Migrant Primary School field Umunnachi, attracted members of the age grade, Umunnachi Sons and Daughters both young and old as well as friends and well-wishers.

Culture they say is the people’s way of life and it is in that light and equally to ensure that positive aspects of Igbo culture is revived and sustained that Uzodimma Age Grade Umunnachi, presented their Akwunechenyi masquerade to the public.

Akwunechenyi is one of the most respected masquerades in Igbo land as its outing commands so much respect at all times within the Igbo nation.

The Chairman, Uzodimma age grade Umunnachi, Chief Chike Chikwelu who said he  was delighted at the successful outing of their masquerade said that what they have done was to revive their positive culture and to tell the Community that they are solidly behind them in all ramifications, even as he sued for all hands to be on deck in the development of their Community.

The President-General, Umunnachi Improvement Union, Chief  Frank Okonkwo represented by the  Vice, President-General Chief Gabriel Osondu commended Uzodimma age grade for the feat achieved and encouraged other age grades in the community to emulate them for the overall development of Umunnachi.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Dr Uche Nworah who witnessed the event said that Governor Willie Obiano has always appealed for the revamping of all positive cultural heritage of Ndi Anambra to attract visitors and urged Ndi Anambra to use the serene, safe and peaceful environment created by the Obiano administration in the state to showcase their rich cultural heritage.

The Chief of Protocol to Governor Willie Obiano, Mr. Uzuegbunam Okagbue is one of the members of Uzodimma age grade Umunnachi.

The age grade equally used the event to launch their 2021 Almanac.
