The ultra-modern hall renovated for people of Umuezu Awovu village Enugwu-Ukwu, in Njikoka Council Area by the Former Senator representing Anambra Central at the Senate, Chief Victor Umeh, has been commissioned for social activities.
The project which also included a borehole facility drilled by the Senator to serve the hall and the entire village is part of the last constituency project of Senator Umeh during his tenure at the Red Chamber.
Commissioning the project, the Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke who also hails from Enugwu-Ukwu, thanked Senator Umeh for honouring his request for the renovation of the project, describing him as a man who has the interest of others at heart.
He asked members of the village to take full ownership of the project and to properly manage it to generate revenue for the development of the area.
On his part, Senator Umeh explained that the project was done on the basis of his relationship with Enugwu-Ukwu people especially the Deputy Governor, expressing hope that the hall will be properly managed for the benefit of the entire villagers.
Earlier in their remarks, the Transition Committee Chairman for Njikoka Local Government Area, Mr Judge Ozor, Umuezu Awovu Chairman, Mr Fabian Akpagu, and a stakeholder in the area, Chief Jude Ekwunife appreciated Senator Umeh and Deputy Governor Okeke for the project and assured to ensure proper management and judicious use of the facilities.
