The Traditional Ruler of Umueri, Igwe Sir Benneth Emeka has called on people to live a life of gratitude to God for his love and gift to man.
Igwe Emeka who made the call in his message to Nigerians and the world in general this yuletide at his palace in Umueri, noted that God loves man and gave his son Jesus Christ to save man from sin.
The Umueri monarch said that celebration of the birth of the savior of the world Jesus Christ is characterized by love, gift, joy and peace, urging people to show love of Christ through gift to those around them and maintaining peace with all men.
Igwe Umueri who noted that Christmas season is, time to reflect on one’s personal relationship with God reminded people that Christmas is not a time to commit evil, reckless spending, carelessness and drunkenness, stressing the need for people to know Jesus Christ whom they celebrate his birth to make the celebration meaningful to them and to others.
Igwe Emeka thanked God for keeping Ndi Umueri and Ndi Anambra throughout the year which he said was characterized with many challenges and commended Governor Willie Obiano for his efforts and commitment towards safety of Ndi Anambra, urging people to celebrate the season in a rightful manner to avoid causing trouble and acts capable of truncating the existing peace in Anambra.
