The traditional ruler of Umueri Igwe Benneth Emeka has celebrates his fourth Ovala festival and inaugurated eleven new cabinet members to join the Umueri Royal Assembly.

Inaugurating the new Cabine, Igwe Emeka charged them to remain good ambassadors of Umueri and work towards the unity and development of Umueri.
The Umueri Monarch thanked God for preserving people of the community throughout this year inspite of obvious challenges and assured that there will be no more war between Umueri and her neighbours as there could be no tangible development in the face of war.


The Ovala is the highpoint of the Umueri traditional calendar of Igu Aro, Ili Onwa Ato, Iwa ji, Ili Onwa Isa then Igba Ovala by the traditional ruler and his subjects to mark the Monarch’s successful year on the throne.
Ndi Umueri from all over Nigeria and diaspora use it to pay annual homage and tribute to their Monarch as the Ovala festival promotes peace, love and unity among Ndi Umueri.

In his remarks the Cabinet Acting Secretary Chief Ngozi Okoye, and the chairman Umueri 2020 Ovala Planning Committee and member Umueri Royal Cabinet Chief Sunday Udealor said that this year’s Ovala took another dimension as the cabinet members appeared on new regalia.

One of the cabinet members, Chief Paul Okafor and a former member of Anambra State Assembly Honourable Iduu Emeka said that Ovala ushers in peace, unity, and development, describing Igwe Emeka as man of integrity that has fear of God.


Palace of Igwe Emeka, venue for the event witnessed the presence of traditional rulers from other communities in the state, associates, government functionaries, industrialists, Ndi Umueri, friends and well-wishers who came to pay homage to Igwe Emeka.

The event featured cultural display by different groups, Owuwa dance by Igwe Emeka, his wife Oche-eze CHINWE, children and cabinet members among others.
