Over five hundred widows have received succor as a non -governmental Organization, Hope Chest International Foundation offered assistance to them in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area.

The annual empowerment programme and medical outreach were aimed at putting smiles on the faces of widows, who are confronted by the challenges of widowhood.

Items distributed include rice and beans, wrapper, drugs among others.

According to the Founder of the Foundation Evangelist Ngozi Mbachu, the Non-Governmental Organization was set up to Contribute to humanity and help the Vulnerable for social transformation.

Evangelist Mbachu stated that through prayers the foundation has brought hope and assistance to the widows within Alor community and beyond which has attracted the star government recognition.

She thanked Governor Willie Obiano, his wife Dr Ebelechukwu and the Commissioner for Women and children Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mezue for the award of honour as Beacon of Hope bestowed on her while appreciating individuals and organizations that supported the foundation in uplifting humanity.

Addressing the widows, Mrs. Uzoma Inno-Okoye recalled that losing a bread winner was not an easy experience and encouraged them to anchor their hope on God.

Earlier in his ministration, Evangelist Austin Joshua urged the widows to rekindle their trust on God while cautioning against altars.

Meanwhile, the medical team led by Bernice Mbachu enlightened the women on health issues and how to manage various health challenges such as high blood pressure, peptic ulcer, diabetics among others.

The Imo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Emeka Ezeonu commended humanity progressive moves of the foundation in uplifting humanity through charity irrespective of the personal challenge of the founder, Evangelist Ngozi Mbachu and prayed God to strengthen her.

Responding some of the beneficiaries including  Mrs. Christiana Ndianaefo and Mrs. Chiamaka Aziagba expressed gratitude to God for the good deeds of Evangelist Mbachu in alleviating their plight.
