The remains of Late Mr. Alexander Osakwe has been laid to rest in his country home, Umuru village Ogidi, idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Aged Sixty-Eight, Late Mr Osakwe was a retired staff of the Engineering Unit, Anambra Broadcasting Service.
Friends, relatives and staff of the Anambra Broadcasting Service turned up at the home of late Mr Alexander Osakwe to pay their last respect to a man whom they described as a perfect gentleman.
In his homily during the funeral mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Umuru Ogidi, Reverend Father Christopher Okechukwu said when one dies, it is his works on earth that speak for him, pointing out that it is high time people stopped living a life against the principle of God.
According to him, late Mr Osakwe was known as a man who stood for the truth, upheld the catholic faith and humility which fetched him the name Omena nwayo.
Speaking to the ABS, the first son of the deceased Mr Osita Osakwe, the first daughter Mrs Anwulika Ibeh and the last son Mr Ifeanyi Osakwe said the demise of their father came at a wrong time, saying it was a great loss to the family, adding that their father will be fondly remembered for his kind heart, humility and the love he planted in the family while praying God to give them the wisdom to carry on the good legacy of their father.
In their separate speeches, former Head of Engineering Unit ABS, Engineer Obiora Nzekwe, retired, the Director of Administration ABS, Lady Tina Ekenta and Acting Director of Engineering Unit ABS, Engineer Paul Okoye took turns to recount their encounter with late Mr Osakwe, describing him as a dedicated and committed staff who was friendly to everyone.
They encouraged the family to toe the footsteps of their late father and take solace in the good name and legacy he left behind.
On his part, the President Catholic Men Organization, Holy Trinity Catholic Church Ogidi, Barrister Vincent Momah, said late Mr Osakwe was an active and dedicated member of the organization that would always be remembered as an epitome of humility.
In their vote of thanks, the younger brother to the deceased, Mr Ofoegbunam Osakwe and a relative Comrade Muanya Onyema appreciated all who took out time to mourn with them and prayed God to lead them safely to their destinations.
The burial ceremony featured dance and condolence visit.
