The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Hon. Uche Okafor says Anambra State government has produced outstanding prelates who have continued to make impressive marks in their various denominations.

 

In his goodwill message to the new Anglican Bishop elect of Mbamili Diocese, Venerable Obiora Uzochukwu, Right Hon. Okafor noted that the good work of the Venerable Uzochukwu as the Sub-Dean of the All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha and his sound evangelism are among the considerations that earned him the episcopal seat.

 

The Speaker who urged the Bishop elect to bring his experience to bear in his missionary assignment at the Mbamili Diocese, maintained that the people of the area need a dedicated Prelate like him to move the Diocese to greater heights.

 

He commended Governor Willie Obiano for his continuous financial assistance and other largesse to all the Dioceses in the state and enjoined various religious bodies in the state to reciprocate the gesture through fervent prayers for continuous peace and progress of the state.

 

Right Hon. Okafor while praying God to equip Venerable Uzochukwu to record meaningful achievements in his episcopate, called on Ndi Anambra to give him the needed support.
