More beneficiaries Receive Free Medical Services From Marcel Ofomata Foundation At Isuofia, Nanka Communities
Thousands of people were treated of different ailments by Dr Amechi Ofomata, founder Marcel Ofomata foundation at Isuofia Primary Health Centre, Ofuobi General Hospital Isuofia and Nanka respectively.
The medical mission attracted beneficiaries from within and outside the state.
During the medical mission , medical professionals including medical doctors and other health workers rendered consultation, general diagnosis services and treatments, presentation of hygiene packs, nose masks, laboratory tests, eye checks, presentation of glasses and referral among others to over one thousand, four hundred beneficiaries in the day one and day two of the mission respectively as well as over thirty-four Major and minor surgical operations on the third day.
In his address of welcome, the founder Marcel Ofomata foundation, Dr Amaechi Ofomata said that the mission of the Foundation is to bring health care services to the grassroots and as well encourage scientific method of treatment to health needs towards reducing adults and infant mortality.
The Head of Media and Strategy of the Foundation, Mr Peter Saturday, who noted that the ninth edition of free medical outreach sponsored By the foundation at Ozalla Primary Health Centre Isuofia on the day one and Ofuobi General hospital Nanka on day two respectively saw the treatment of many beneficiaries making both days of the outreach a huge success, enumerated other intervention programmes of the Foundation to include academic scholarship up to university level, revolving interest free loan for women, youth empowerment, provision of clean water, solar powered electrification, ongoing Mini-Stadium towards sports development and building of an Entrepreneurial Research and Development Centre at University of Nigeria, Nsukka among others.
Some of the Doctors, including Alphonsus Ekanem and Ubeong Ise, commended the leadership and innovation Dr Ofomata has brought over the years in service of humanity and administration of the humanitarian organization.
The traditional rulers of Isuofia, Igwe Christopher Muoghalu and his Nanka counterpart Igwe Godwin Ezeilo, said that Dr Ofomata over the years has committed great time, strategy and professionalism in advancing the course of humanity during the annual free medical mission.
Some of the patients, including Mr Ikechukwu Asoro, Ogechukwu Ememine, Mr Sunday Anakwe, Martin Okoye and Amara Okafor, commended the founder Marcel Ofomata Foundation for his commitment to bringing health and wealth to those in rural areas praying God to bless and reward him abundantly.
