The new Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Ken Anierobi has advocated support for the hospitality sector of the state.
Dr. Anierobi who stated this in his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka, said that the support is a necessary measure to institute better structure for the industry and aid their recovery from the ravaging effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that according to the Commissioner who anchored his road map for the Ministry on the mission and vision statements of Governor Obiano’s administration, the ministry is in a unique position to realize the mission, saying that the tourism potential and resources of the state will be well harnessed to achieve the set out purpose.
While describing time as a limited resource for everyone, Commissioner Anierobi expressed optimism that they will be efficient with the remaining time of this administration, stressing that because Ndi Anambra have the best minds and skills all over the world, it affords a great opportunity to harness the resources in a bid to realizing the mission and vision statements and explained a number of projects his Ministry intends to deliver.
He said that in the coming days Ndi Anambra in the diaspora will be mobilized through engagements and contact building, while the ongoing Ogbunike cave project will be completed to open up the place for more tourists, as well as the Ogba-Ukwu cave at Owerri-Ezukalla.
On the culture aspects, Commissioner Anierobi said that they are already exploring areas with implementation of scheduled programs and engagements to promote the rich cultural heritage of Ndi Anambra.
Recall that Governor Willie Obiano had during a virtual state executive meeting on 14th January, 2021 sworn in Dr. Kenneth Anierobi as Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, following confirmation of the Commissioner designate on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 by the Anambra Legislature, whose appointment took effect from 1st January 2021.
Dr. Anierobi hails from Omor in Ayamelum local government council.
