The Chairman, Anambra state petroleum task force, Chief Chris Okonkwo has called on petrol marketers in Anambra state to always adhere to all fire safety measures in citing their filling stations, especially now that harmattan is back.
Chief Okonkwo while speaking with the ABS over the fire incident at a petrol station in Nnewi, urged marketers in the state to always abide by all the fire and other safety measures before setting up filling stations to avoid unnecessary fire outbreak and loss of life and property.
He noted that Governor Willie Obiano is highly determined to ensure the safety of life and property of Ndi Anambra and all residents of the state at all times.
The Anambra state petroleum task force boss assured that they will continue to monitor and sensitize marketers of petroleum products in the state to ensure that they do their businesses in conformity with all safety standards as well as help consumers to get value for their money.
Chief Okonkwo urged residents of Anambra state to go about their normal businesses, as there is no cause for alarm and warned that all existing stations that do not comply with the safety requirements in the state will be relocated.
