In order to ensure that health practitioners in Anambra State operate with strict adherence to all COVID-19 protocols, the State government through the Ministry of Health has organized one-day training for health practitioners in the state.
The training tagged “Anambra State Chain of COVID-19 Survival”, drew health practitioners from across the state.
Addressing participants, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala thanked the practitioners for all they have been doing in supporting the fight against COVID-19, and noted that the state government needs more from them in terms of sensitizing their patients about the dreaded virus.
Dr. Okpala, who said that they have COVID-19 trained personnel in all political wards, markets, parks, schools among others, listed the chain of survival to include, adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols, early identification, contact tracing among numerous others to eliminate the spread of the disease.
The Infection Prevention Focal person, Ministry of Health, Dr. Kenneth Nwaokolo gave a breakdown of COVID-19 history and all that is required to be free from it as well as its management it in case of eventuality.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of health, Mr. Linus Nwankwo among other top officials of the ministry was present during the training.
