Anambra State government has recovered its lands mapped out for Farm Settlement in Igbariam, Anambra East Local Government Area.
The exercise was carried out by State Joint Task Force on Government Land Recovery.
The Joint Task Force led by the Anambra State Physical Planning Board paid an enforcement visit to the Igbariam Farm Settlement where perimeter fencing had already been erected.
The perimeter fences said to be illegal structures were pulled down as the developers did not obtain government approval before embarking on such projects.
The General Manager of the Board, Mr Nwabufo Anene said that the enforcement exercise became necessary as all warnings to the developers to stop work, fell on deaf ears.
A block of eighteen shops built under high tension cable in Awada, Obosi was also sealed off by the officials of Anambra State Physical Planning Board.
Mr Anene who led the enforcement team said that the move is to serve as warning to traders who are already occupying the shops, in spite of the health implications.
Officials of the Board also sealed off a building under construction in Obosi Idemili North Local Government Area.
The building which has been marked for demolition by the Board, sits on access road into about three other compounds, against the provisions of the law.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Lands and Physical Planning, Mrs. Joy Nneli was also part of the exercise.
