Anambra Achievers Legacy Award (AKULULU UNO AMAKA-2021), in affiliation with Igbo Leaders of Thought General Assembly, is in line with the philosophy of “Ndi Anambra Nalue Uno and Build Your Home; to promote good societal value and right ideals”, which our people are known for.
Anambra Achievers Legacy Award (AKULULU UNO AMAKA-2021) is also in commemoration of Anambra State at 30, celebrating 30 exceptional achievers who have invested heavily in the state by building roads, award of scholarships, rural electrification, built factories and industries which, provided job opportunities to our youths and increased the revenue profile of the state; people who have imbibed the “Think Home Philosophy”.
Anambra Achievers Legacy Award is dully registered with C.A.C Abuja, and empowered for the recognition of individuals and corporate organizations towards excellence.
Anambra State, aptly tagged, the “Light of the Nation”, was created in 1976 from the defunct East Central State, and its capital was Enugu. On August 27, 1991, it was further divided into two, Anambra and Enugu States. The capital of Anambra is Awka. The state, at 30 years in 2021, calls for celebration and introspection.
Anambra Achievers Legacy Award is a quadrennial event that honours prestigious individuals, the ‘First Eleven’ among peers in their various fields of endeavour with the following qualities: Men and women who have greatly impacted on the lives of the people through their programs and projects with preponderance of evidence on ground to show for it. Individuals who have sacrificed their time, talent and resources for the betterment of Anambra State in particular and humanity in general; the heart and soul of their respective communities.
Men and women of noble cause; who are exceptionally reliable and dependable, who have distinguished themselves in various fields/disciplines; the critical thinkers on nation building (the pride of the state).
For the sustainability of AKULULU UNO AMAKA PHILOSOPHY, Anambra Achievers ensures that the state government provides land to Ndi Anambra at a highly subsidized rate for the development of factories, public and private establishments within a time frame. This dream is accomplished as our people are being absorbed by the factories, industries, private sectors and tertiary institutions, thereby actualizing the ultimate goal of Anambra State becoming the Dubai of Africa (AKULULU UNO AMAKA).
Finally, Anambra Achievers Legacy Award cannot forget our past heroes, to honour them for their contributions to the development of Anambra state in particular and Igbos in general; people like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, the Owelle of Onitsha, who gave us the first indigenous University and Financial Institution (ACB), to help our business men and women; Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (Dikedioramma) and others.
We urge our youths to emulate people like Professors Chinua Achebe, Dora Akunyili, Kenneth Dike, Chike Obi, Prince Dr. A. A. Nwafor Orizu, and other reputable men and women.
The event will be chaired by Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, former Governor of Anambra State. Special guests of honours are: Governors of Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Rivers and Delta States, with all distinguished Senators, members of House of Representatives, Speaker and members of Anambra State House of Assembly, and their predecessors in office, other top government functionaries, business moguls, captains of industry, traditional rulers, religious leaders, presidents general of town unions.
