The Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on indigenous Medicine and Herbal Practice Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim says the second wave of COVID-19 is highly infectious.
Speaking to the ABS in Awka, Dr Ibezim who maintained that preventive measures against the second wave of COVID-19 is the same as the first wave of the virus.
According to Dr Ibezim, Anambra State government got it well in the first wave of the virus and urged the people of the State to cooperate with the government in all its measures aimed at checking the spread of the COVID-19 in the State.
Dr Ibezim who is also the Managing Director of Anambra State Oxygen production plant maintained that the agency has been living up to expectations as directed by Governor Willie Obiano in ensuring regular and uninterrupted supply of oxygen free to hospitals that demands for it.
He advised the management of various hospitals not to allow their oxygen to finish before they make further demand for the product.
Dr Ibezim, who described regular supply of oxygen to COVID patients on admission as critical advised Medical practitioners to resort to the use of oxygen mask rather than the nasal prongs in attending to COVID patients.
He advised the people of Anambra State to always obey government directives on COVID-19 including wearing of protective masks, regular washing of hand with soap under clean running water and proper use of hand sanitizers.
