Master Chukwuebuka Aneke, of Grundtvig Institute Oba, has emerged winner of the first prize in the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission annual essay competition.
SS two students from both public and private schools in Nigeria participated in the competition tagged: “The Importance of Maintaining Health and Safety in the Use of Electricity”.
The first Prize award plaque, along with a cheque for five hundred thousand naira, was presented to Master Chukwuebuka by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman, Mr. Sanusi Garba, at the award ceremony held at Electricity Regulatory Commission Headquarters, Abuja on twenty-third February.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman said that Master Chukwuebuka is the first student from a school in the Southeast to win its Annual Essay Competition, adding that the essays were marked by the West African Examinations Council WAEC.
An award plaque was also presented to the school and received by one of the English teachers, Mr Ifeanyi Ossai, along with prizes for both the teacher and the school.
