The Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne says provision of social amenities and developmental projects is top priority of the present administration.

 

Engineer Ezenwanne stated this at Ekwulobia, Aguata Council Area while monitoring all the fetching points of Obizi Water Regional Scheme, Uga, Aguata Council Area.

Obizi regional water scheme, was expanded and rehabilitated by the present administration in collaboration with European Union to serve fourteen communities around the area.

 

Engineer Ezenwanne who said water was one of the major issues challenging  Ndi Aguata and environs  noted that since the project was commissioned by Governor Obiano last year, the masses heaved sigh of relief with provision of enough water.

 

He called on traditional rulers, Presidents-General and other community leaders to help in securing and maintaining all pipes laid which passes water to all the fetching points.

 

Engineer Ezenwanne noted that the monitoring team from the  Ministry will be going from one community to the other to ensure people divert  water from the pipe or destroy it so that it can serve the purpose.

The Chairman, Monitoring Committee of the Ministry, Mr Dozie Akunne, maintained that they will partner with the community leaders to ensure the project is secured as water is very important to life noting that it will promote life and healthy living, thanking Governor Obiano for the gesture.

 

Some of the beneficiaries, including  Prince Chimezie Ezeiruoma and Mrs Nnenna Okosi, expressed  joy for the development, stating that, they spend money in buying water and thanked Governor Willie Obiano for having their interest at heart.
