RHEMA ministries World-Wide and the entire Christendom in the Southern Nigeria, over the week end, converged on Central School field Umunya, Oyi council area, to witness the last crusade of the late Bishop Arthur Nwachukwu.
The late Bishop Nwachukwu was the founder of RHEMA ministries which he started in Umunya, and later expanded to all parts of the country and beyond.
Correspondent Ngozi Obileri covered the burial ceremony and reports that aged seventy eight, the late Bishop Nwachukwu popularly called the Lord’s General started his journey to eternity with lying in state in his family compound at Agu-Akpu Ajakpana Village, Umunya where people from all walks of life paid their last respect to the fallen soldier of Christ.
At the Central school field Umunya where all COVID-19 protocols were observed , dignitaries including government functionaries, politicians , and the clergy were all seated as they await the final crusade of late Bishop Nwachukwu.
In a message, Reverend Dr Umah Ukpai who refreshed the minds of Christians on the need to live holy life so as not to be found wanting on the last day, used the opportunity to heal the sick, and deliver some people from evil spirits while some were liberated from bondages.
The State Head of Service Barrister Harry Uduh who represented Governor Willie Obiano at the event, described the late Bishop Nwachukwu as a true man of God who contributed immensely to the growth of the society advising his children to sustain his legacies.
In his remarks, the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Mr Uche Ogah, in his speech acknowledged that the late Bishop Nwachukwu was a true man of God whose exploits went beyond Nigeria, even as he charged other ministers of God to emulate the footsteps of such men of God.
Also speaking, the traditional ruler of Umunya, Igwe Kris Onyekwuluje who thanked God for the contribution of the late Bishop Nwachukwu, describing him as a father to all.
The only brother of late Bishop Nwachukwu, who is the founder Grace of God Mission world-wide, Bishop Paul Nwachukwu, while consecrating the new Bishop of RHEMA Ministries worldwide, went down memory lane on how his late brother became converted, and saved many souls for God, said that their family is blessed by God to be ministers of the most high, charging the newly consecrated Bishop to toe the footsteps of his father and maintain the good linage of the family.
Earlier while reading tribute to the late Bishop Nwachukwu, his first son who is now the new Bishop of RHEMA ministries, Bishop Chidozie Nwachukwu, said that the plan of God for their family started manifesting early in their family with blessing his father with five children who are now doing wonders in their various branches of the church, expressing optimism that he is already resting with the Lord.
The third son of the deceased Dr Amechi Nwachukwu who is the Medical Director Princeton Orthopedic Hospital Awka, thanked God for the life of their father whom he said God healed of diabetes and gave him thirty five years on earth even when Doctors have lost hope of his survival.
Condolence visit by friends, in- laws and church members featured immediately after interment at the Nwachukwu’s family compound at Agu-Akpu, Ajakpana Umunya.
