Anambra State Government has proscribed the activities of the Great Tipper Drivers Association in the state.
In a release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Dr. Emman Ude Akpeh for Honourable Commissioner, said that Governor Willie Obiano pursuant to the inherent constitutional powers of the governor as the Chief Security Officer of the state and sections three hundred and seventy-one, two hundred and fifty-one, two hundred and fifty-two and three hundred and two of the criminal code has made executive order No 3 as contained in Anambra State gazette No 3, Vol. 31 of 4thMarch, 2021 proscribing and prohibiting all activities and interest of the Great Tipper Drivers Association in Anambra State with immediate effect.
The release warned that in line with the Executive order under reference, any person who acts in a manner or collaborates with other persons to act in any manner in order to extort money and other property from persons or to assault and batter persons for revenue purposes, or who acts in a manner so rash or negligent as to endanger human life for revenue purposes contrary to sections 371,251, 252 and 302 of the criminal code will be arrested, prosecuted and penalized for breach of peace in the state.
