A front line All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, stake holder in Anambra state, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has called for teamwork among Anambra state government political appointees, to ensure that APGA continues to hold on to power in the state, and beyond.
Professor Soludo, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the Chairman of Anambra Vision 2070, while interacting with all political appointees under the present administration, said that the November poll remains critical as it would define both the future of Anambra State as well as APGA as a political platform.
Correspondent, Daniel Ezeigwe reports that the former CBN boss also stated that all hands must be on deck to retain power of leading the state, stating that Governor Willie Obiano has ignited the light of progress and transformation in the state from where his successor must continue to build the Anambra State of everyone’s dreams.
He noted that the recent statistics by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, putting Anambra State’s poverty index to have fallen from fifty-three per cent to forteen-point zero-eight per cent, the legacy projects including the Anambra International Cargo Airport, which has the second longest runway in Nigeria and the unprecedented security architecture existing in the state as evidence of Governor Obiano’s mastery of governance.
Earlier in a remark, the Secretary to the Government of Anambra State, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, said that political appointees are critical part of the process, and crucial to electing the successor to Governor Willie Obiano.
Professor Chukwulobelu also noted that the APGA political philosophy over the past fifteen years in Anambra State has been immense by way of governance and political excellence, a trend that was missing from the political structure of the state prior to the party’s take over.
The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uchenna Okafor, in his speech called for the sustainability of the APGA political vision by capitalizing on what the present administration has achieved as well as Professor Soludo’s knowledge dividends.
Also speaking, the member representing Anambra East and West at the House of Representatives, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, said that all members of the party must galvanize efforts, stand firm with one vision and eschew bitterness in order for APGA to retain its success grade come November this year.
The political appointees who were at the event included the Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers of government agencies and parastatals, including the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Dr Uche Nworah, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Executive Assistants among others.
The Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Pascal Agbodike was also present at the event.
