The Anambra State Government has expressed profound grief on the passing away of a renowned broadcaster, Late Mr. Ben Egbuna.
The Late Egbuna had the distinction of being the first Anambra State personage to serve as the Director General of the Federal Radio Corporation, FRCN, with headquarters at Abuja.
A release signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C. Don Adinuba, said the Late Egbuna, born as the first son into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nnaemeka Egbuna of Adagbe Avomimi Village Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area, died in the early hours of Saturday, January thirtieth, 2021, at the age of seventy-one.
According to the release, the Late Egbuna was a much sought-after international broadcaster, who travelled far and wide before his retirement in 2008 after thirty-five years of meritorious service to his fatherland.
The release described him as a devout Catholic, who was married to Beatrice Egbuna and their marriage was blessed with four children and seven grandchildren.
The release further stated that Anambra State has indeed lost a pathfinder, an urbane and detribalized professional, whose word was his bond.
He will be buried in Adagbe Avomimi, Enugwu-Ukwu today, Thursday March twenty-fifth, 2021.
