The Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, has taken the war against indiscriminate posting of posters and erecting of bill boards to rural parts of the state as it pulled down some bill boards mounted at Ogbunka.
Correspondent, Amaka Chibuzo Okoye reports that one of the bill boards belonging to a prominent personality in the community, Dr Foster Ifejiofor was pulled down as it was mounted at a wrong place, and without the Agency’s tag, just as it was situated very close to the road.
Addressing newsmen after the exercise, the team leader of Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency that led the operation, Mr Chika Ngaobili said that the board is an illegal one as it has no tag and not owned by Advertisement practitioners.
He said that the structure portraying him as the traditional ruler of the community is also illegal and as such not allowed.
Mr Ngaobili maintained that individuals have no right to erect bill boards rather they should pass through a Advertisement practitioner so as to make it genuine as such practitioners will be held responsible if any issue arises.
The team leader disclosed that their men are on ground and if they found such boards, will pull it down and ensure that such persons face full weight of the law.
