Following an attack by unknown gunmen on one of the front line Governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, in the November sixth Anambra State gubernatorial election, Professor Chukwuma Soludo at his Isuofia Country home, some political stakeholders in Anambra State have condemned the attack describing it as barbaric and unfortunate.
Professor Soludo’s attack led to the death of his security Aides.
The Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Sir Norbert Obi described the incident as barbaric and condemnable, and condoled the families of the slain security officers.
Sir Norbert who said that APGA has been a peaceful Party that was formed to alleviate the suffering of the poor and vulnerable in the society, urged security officers in the State to always be on alert at all times.
For the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, Anambra State political space has been peaceful, accommodative and tolerant over the years, warning that no amount of brigandage will mar the upcoming Anambra State governorship election, even as he commiserated with the police high command over the ugly incident.
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Awka South Local Government Area, Chief Michael Mofunanya, described the incident as alien to Ndi Anambra that have been enjoying relative peace over the years and appealed to all security agencies in the State to ensure that those behind the heinous act are arrested and prosecuted.
