The Bishop on the Niger, Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo, has expressed concern over what he described as gloomy and chaotic State of the Nigeria nation, calling on the Federal Government to check the situation urgently before it gets out of hand.
He condemned in strong terms the incessant killings of innocent Nigerians by unknown gunmen and pleaded for the respect of the sanctity of human life.
Bishop Nwokolo who stated this in his Easter Message, regretted the number of lives and magnitude of property which he said Nigeria has lost to terrorism and brigandage since the past few years.
Assuring Nigerians that all hope is not yet lost, Bishop Nwokolo explained that as Jesus Christ suffered, buried and later resurrected so will the country stabilize after decades of decay and turbulence.
The Bishop also frowned at the escalating cost of essential commodities in the country and the steady fall of the value of the Nigerian currency of which he said are responsible for the present hardship in the country, enjoined the Federal Government to find a way urgently to save the citizenry from starvation and diseases.
